The Taliban have announced that the war in Afghanistan is over and the whole country is under their control, Al Jazeera reports.
The day before, the leaders of the Resistance Front fighting in the north of Afghanistan announced that they were ready for a ceasefire if the Taliban withdrew their troops from the province. The Taliban refused to accept the terms.
At the same time, the formation of a new government in Afghanistan, headed by the leader of the movement, has been completed. The Taliban invited representatives of Russia, Turkey, China, Iran, Pakistan and Qatar to the new government’s inauguration.
Earlier, the Taliban expressed a desire to establish diplomatic relations with Germany. Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said the German embassy would return to Kabul if the Taliban provides it security, respects human rights in Afghanistan and forms an inclusive Government.
