On the occasion of Knowledge Day, the servicemen of the Russian peacekeeping contingent organized a humanitarian action for the children of the bordering Martuni region of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), the press service of the Russian Defense Ministry reports.
In the secondary school of Machkalashen village, the peacekeepers congratulated about 100 schoolchildren and teachers on the beginning of the new academic year.
“Stationery for successful education was distributed to the students of School No. 2. Children participated in the second to twelfth grade categories. I would like to note that each set corresponded to the student of the corresponding class. In addition, the school was given a set of visual artistic propaganda, maps, periodic tables, as well as a set of balls. This action was made possible thanks to the ‘Haste to Good’ fund,” said Ruslan Ivanov, representative of the Russian peacekeeping contingent.
During the action, specialists from the Russian Peacekeeping Humanitarian Center and representatives of a charitable foundation donated notebooks, sketchbooks, pencil cases, sets of multi-colored pens and pencils, felt-tip pens, ruler sets, book holders and teaching aids to the children.
The peacekeepers also donated accessories for sports games, posters for classes in history, labor, geography and mathematics for the needs of the school.
