The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) pursues a defense policy and it does not intend to send troops to Afghanistan. The statement came from CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas, Tass reports.
“These fears are completely unfounded. CSTO is an exclusively military-political organization. It can use the collective defense forces only within CSTO area of responsibility,” Zas said in response to a question about sending troops to Afghanistan.
