On August 27, Ararat Mirzoyan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenian Republic received Lynne Tracy, the US Ambassador to Armenia.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to the Armenian-American cooperation, referring to the continuous support provided by the United States to Armenia.
The Armenian side mentioned that consistent steps will be taken to further develop the partnership with the United States, especially in cooperation on democracy, rule of law and the fight against corruption.
They discussed the provocative actions of Azerbaijan against the sovereign territory of Armenia, as well as the situation created by the Azeri-Turkish aggression against Artsakh.
Ararat Mirzoyan stressed the need to work with partners to resume talks within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs aimed at resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict through key issues in the peace process, including the final clarification of Artsakh's status.
The RA Foreign Minister also added that the withdrawal of the Azerbaijani armed forces from the sovereign territory of Armenia without preconditions may create appropriate conditions for discussing the existing issues and seeking possible solutions, emphasizing that the Armenian government is ready to make efforts to establish peace in the region.
During the meeting, Ararat Mirzoyan strongly condemned the terrorist attacks near Kabul airport and expressed his condolences to the families of the killed civilians and the military.
