The letter of Mher Margaryan, the Permanent Representative of Armenia to the United Nations (UN) to the UN Secretary-General was circulated as an official document of the UN General Assembly and Security Council, drawing the attention of the UN member states to the attempts of the highest authorities of Azerbaijan to cover up the unleashed aggression against Artsakh the crimes committed with the false interpretation of Article 51 of the UN Charter on the right to self-defense.
Referring to the hate speech and belligerent rhetoric constantly voiced by the Azerbaijani authorities, Ambassador Margaryan emphasizes that in an interview on August 14, the President of Azerbaijan admits that it was Azerbaijan that started the war in in September, 2020 trying to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in his favor.
This way, the obvious violations of international obligations and the unleashing of war in the context of global epidemic by Azerbaijan are officially confirmed, also violating the call of UN Secretary-General to end the armed operations during the global health crisis.
