Audrey Azoulay, the Director-General of UNESCO sent a congratulatory message to Nikol Pashinyan on his appointment as Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.
The message says:
"Dear Mr. Prime Minister,
On behalf of UNESCO, I have the honor to congratulate you on your re-election as Prime Minister of Armenia and wish you success in your mission in this high post.
As a defender of diversity, Armenia worked closely with UNESCO since joining the organization in 1992, in particular, to promote international cooperation for providing accessible education for all, the preservation of cultural heritage, sustainable development and freedom of expression.
I warmly remember our meetings in Yerevan during the 17th Summit of the Heads of Government of the Francophonie in October 2018, as well as during the 40th session of the UNESCO General Conference in Paris in November 2019, during which we exchanged thoughts on prospects to strengthen the cooperation between Armenia and the organization, including the “Matenadaran” Research Institute, which is included in the register of the “World Memory” program for its work in the preservation of ancient manuscripts.
I am confident that the existing strong cooperation between Armenia and UNESCO will be strengthened even more during your second term in the post. I assure you that I will spare no effort to achieve the goal.
Congratulations again".
