The leadership of the radical Taliban movement intends to form a governing Council of Afghanistan․ It will consist of 12 members and will also have some members of the previous Government of the country.
This is reported by the “Foreign Policy” magazine referring to its sources․
According to the sources, the most influential members of the Council will be the leader of the political wing of the Taliban, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the head of the Taliban military Commission Mulavi Yaqub, and a field commander and head of the “Haqqani” network, Sirajuddin Haqqani․
As the magazine mentions, the Taliban do not want to have a sole leader again who will rule Afghanistan.
They intend to form a Council as inclusive as possible in order to increase the chances for recognition by the international community․
