On August 24, at 19:48 local time, the Kotayk Regional Crisis Management Center received a call about a fire that started on the territory of the “Khosrov Forest” State Nature Reserve.
Five firefighter and rescue worker crews, as well as two task force groups from Yerevan, the Ministry of Emergency Situations Rescue Service and the regional rescue department rushed to the scene.
By initial estimates, about 5,000 square meters of grass was burning.
31 rescuers, 20 employees of the State Nature Reserve "Khosrov Forest" and about 60 residents of Garni village were participating in containment of the fire.
