The Aurora Humanitarian Initiative continues to expand the “Aurora to Artsakh” program and made one more call for project applications.
Aurora opened an office in Stepanakert, the capital of Artsakh, to make Aurora's humanitarian activities more effective, to strengthen its presence in the region, and to strengthen Artsakh's position in the international arena.
Through the "Aurora to Artsakh" program, the "Aurora" humanitarian initiative helps the people of Artsakh, who found themselves in a severe humanitarian crisis, after the 2020 Artsakh war. Originally designed to provide emergency assistance to war victims, the program now supports projects that promote long-term social development in the region.
Any organization working in this field, in need of assistance can apply.
"Having an Aurora office in Stepanakert proves that we are here for a long time. Dozens of local and international partners have joined our program, and it’s very important that these projects take place in a global context and be linked to the current situation in Artsakh. This is not just an office, but a space for stakeholders to come and share their experiences, making sure that all humanitarian efforts in the field are well coordinated. "Such a formula of cooperation can not only help Artsakh, but also become an example for everyone in the world," said Ruben Vardanyan, co-founder of the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative, who was in Stepanakert earlier this month.
Since the launch of the Artsakh Humanitarian Aid Program, Aurora has provided more than 900,000,000 AMD (1,740,000 USD) to support 80 projects implemented by 55 local and international partners, including the “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund, providing immediate humanitarian assistance to the people of Artsakh.
"Aurora continues to move towards development programs, and in this regard, having an office here will allow us to be in line with the long-term needs of the local population. We call on all organizations whose projects improve the social-economic conditions of displaced families, promote the professional skills of young people, contribute to the development of human capital, provide sustainable change in any other way, to apply to the program. "We are confident that this will lead to strengthening local communities and our homeland," said Narine Aghabalyan, head of the Aurora to Artsakh program, who is in charge of the Aurora office in Artsakh.
