Anahit Avanesyan Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia (RA) and Mikhail Murashko, Minister of Health of Russian Federation (RF) had a telephone call, RA Ministry of Health reported.
Mikhail Murashko congratulated Anahit Avanesyan on her reappointment as the Minister of Health and wished her effective work aimed at maintaining and improving the health of the population of Armenia. The Russian partner stressed that the positions of Russia and Armenia on many key issues in the healthcare sector coincide, which can serve as an excellent pillar for the development of bilateral relations.
During the conversation, the RA and RF Ministers of Health referred to the current situation in the fight against the coronavirus. Anahit Avanesyan mentioned that the Russian-made "Sputnik-V" vaccine is being successfully used in Armenia. The parties discussed the possibilities of providing new batches to Armenia.
During the telephone conversation, the importance of the Armenian-Russian health conferences held every year was especially emphasized.
"This event, which has become a tradition, has a great contribution to the deepening of the Armenian-Russian relations in the spheres of healthcare and medicine," said Minister Avanesyan.
Mikhail Murashko reaffirmed his readiness to organize the conference in Moscow this year.
The Ministers agreed to discuss the agenda of the upcoming conference in a working manner, expressing mutual hope that the challenges related to the epidemic will not prevent the representatives of the two countries' health spheres from meeting and implementing joint programs aimed at improving public health.
