From the very beginning, the Azerbaijani authorities acted in clear violation of international rules, they were responsible for killing two Armenian servicemen in Gegharkunik on August 16 and violating their right to life. Arman Tatoyan, the Ombudsman of the Republic of Armenia (RA) wrote about this on his Facebook page.
"The context must be taken into account, at least the facts that the Azerbaijani armed forces
1. invaded and illegally located in the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia: Gegharkunik and Syunik
2. After November 9, 2020 they are physically present in the areas that are legally owned by the residents of the Republic of Armenia or are community property (houses, grasslands, arable lands, pastures).
3. Regularly firing in the direction of the villages, posing a real threat to the lives and health of civilians, causing damage to people's property and animals.
4. Are engaged in criminal acts against civilians, such as stealing animals, attempting to illegally deprive people of their liberty, threatening civilians with firearms, obstructing agricultural activities, etc.
5. Due to their presence in the immediate vicinity of the villages, due to their presence on the roads between the communities, the free movement of people was restricted.
6. Provoking shootings, which stop only as a result of preventive measures of the RA Armed Forces.
In other words, the RA Armed Forces protect the rights, life and peace of our people.
Ss the Azerbaijani authorities officially state, their armed attacks and threats of war are aimed at exerting an internationally prohibited influence on the delimitation and demarcation processes of the borders.
"These facts and justifications will be sent to international organizations", Arman Tatoyan wrote.
