The event was attended by Ara Khzmalyan, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia, Chairman of the Council for Cultural Cooperation of India in Armenia, Vihay Sahsrabhuden, the member of the Upper House of the Indian Parliament, Kishan Dan Deval, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Armenia.
"Armenian-Indian historical relations have deep roots. From ancient times, the Armenians have been active in India in the fields of publishing, economy and trade. Moreover, this event is a testament to the stability and progress of those relations. "Accept the installation of the statue of Mahatma Gandhi in Yerevan as a tribute of the Armenian people to the history of the Indian people," Deputy Minister of Education and Science Ara Khzmalyan congratulated his colleagues on the unveiling of the statue of the great figure.
Chairperson of the Cultural Cooperation Council of India, Member of the Upper House of the Indian Parliament Vihay Sahsrabhudeh and Ambassador Kishan Dan Deval thanked for the decision to erect a statue of the Indian leader in Yerevan.
It should be added that yesterday was India's Independence Day.
