Alen Simonyan, the President of Armenian National Assembly had a farewell meeting with George Saganelidze, Georgia’s Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Armenia. The latter finishes his diplomatic mission in our country.
Welcoming the Ambassador, the President of the Parliament highly appreciated the relationships between Armenian-Georgian nations and thanked George Saganelidze for the work during his diplomatic service. Simonyan expressed hope that the cooperation will be continuous.
In his turn, the Ambassador thanked Simonyan for mutually beneficial and effective cooperation.
George Saganelidze stressed that Armenian-Georgian cooperation is based on the history of centuries of friendship between the two nations. According to him, the countries have a potential in developing it.
Alen Simonyan especially valued the motion of Georgian authorities in the direction of return of Armenian prisoners of war and expressed hope that afterwards Georgia will show its support. In that context, he emphasized the issue of establishment of peace in the region.
The Ambassador also valued the factor of peace in the region and mentioned that he leaves the country with warm memories, remaining Armenia’s friend.
