“There will be no territorial concessions as a result of demarcation and delimitation. If such an issue is discussed in the future, we should not forget about Artsvashen,” said Gnel Sanosyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, answering journalists’ questions.
According to Sanosyan, the unblocking of transport routes should be by two countries, which will benefit not only Armenia but also the countries of the region. The Minister noted that if there is an unblocking, there will be a need to create new infrastructure.
“Especially when it comes to the railway, we cannot have an unblocking without the construction of infrastructure, because we have sections where the former railway network does not exist, a new one must be built,” Sanosyan said.
To the question how the railway will pass, Sanosyan answered.
“There was a former railway network, but now it has been demolished. It passes through Nakhijevan, the railway passes through Meghri. If a decision is made that the railway should be operated, then that direction should be restored and start working. During the Soviet years, there was in the direction of Ijevan. It can be assumed that when there is such peace in the region, and we can completely unblock it, I think it will be economically beneficial to work in that direction as well.”
