The call of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs to refrain from provocative actions and statements is acceptable to us, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced at the beginning of the Government session.
“Obviously, the fulfillment of this condition is of key importance for creating a favorable negotiation atmosphere. If the issue of the traceability of provocative statements is not a big problem, then the issue of the party initiating the provocative actions and ceasefire violations is always a source of debate.
I have said before, and now I think that the identification of the party initiating the ceasefire violations, the targeted condemnation of this provocative act, is essential for the further de-escalation and stabilization of the situation,” Pashinyan said.
According to the Prime Minister, such a function is difficult to imagine without the launch of an international monitoring mechanism.
“In my speech on July 29, I also referred to this issue, saying that I think it should be a CSTO observation mission, and if it is not acceptable for the CSTO, the alternative remains the observation mission of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs,” Pashinyan added.
