Prime Minister of Lithuania Ingrida Šimonytė sent a congratulatory message to Nikol Pashinyan on his appointment as Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.
The congratulatory message reads:
“I would like to send my warmest congratulations on your reappointment as Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia.
The mandate given to you by the voters in the recent elections showed the strong support of the Armenian people for the reforms that your country has undertaken in the last few years. There is no alternative to democratic principles, reforms in the drive to build a prosperous, secure, democratic Armenia.
Let me reaffirm Lithuania's determination to support Armenia on this path. The stronger ties between Armenia and the rest of Europe have always inspired Lithuania.
The signing of the Comprehensive Extended Partnership Agreement, which entered into force this year, can bring the Armenian society higher standards of democracy, a greener environment, as well as better opportunities for business and education. I am confident that your country's progress, as well as its long-term goals, will be confirmed during the Eastern Partnership summit in the fall.
Lithuania enjoys friendly relations with Armenia.
This year, marking the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Armenia and Lithuania, which is the first country in the world to recognize Armenia's independence, we are determined to continue to strengthen the stronger ties and friendship between our peoples. I am convinced that there are many opportunities and incentives for the further development of relations between our two countries in business, culture and other spheres. I am confident that the partnership, mutual trust, beneficial cooperation between Lithuania and Armenia will continue to move forward in a more friendly spirit. I hope that our relations can be further strengthened in the near future with your visit to Lithuania.
I wish you and your government every success in your initiatives.
Please accept, Sir, the assurance of my highest consideration.”
