On August 05, President of the Republic, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the ՛Hayastan՛ All-Armenian Fund Armen Sarkissian had a working discussion with the Executive Director of the Fund Haykak Arshamyan.
The executive director of the foundation presented to President Sarkissian the process of the AMD 30 billion ($60 million) reconstruction programs implemented by the foundation in Artsakh, which include reconstruction of community and national roads, renovation of schools, construction of water supply network, and large-scale housing construction. It was mentioned that 817 apartments and 290 houses are planned to be built during the first stage of housing construction. Some of the apartments and buildings will be put into operation by the end of the year in Stepanakert, in the Ivanyan community, providing their own roof to 457 families displaced from Shushi and Hadrut.
President Sarkissian also discussed with the Executive Director of ‘Hayastan’ All-Armenian Fund issues related to the programs launched in Syunik province in September.
After the working visit of the President of the Republic of Armenia to Syunik province in April, on the instruction of the President, the representatives of the ‘Hayastan’ All-Armenian Fund’s staff visited the province, met with the residents of the local self-government bodies. As a result of the discussions and needs assessment, a program of primary problems of the communities of Syunik province was drawn up in order to solve a number of problems of community, educational and social significance.
The $ 1 million program will be launched in September and will be implemented in stages with the joint efforts of the Office of the President and ‘Hayastan’ All-Armenian Fund, in part with the financial support of the Office of the President.
Noting that security, economic and social assistance to the communities of Artsakh and Syunik is a priority, President Sarkissian said that all means and efforts should be made to support our communities and compatriots in need of support. Being able to implement the programs responsibly, strictly adhering to the deadlines, the President expressed satisfaction with the current volume and speed of work.
Haykak Arshamyan also informed President Sarkissian about the implementation of the decisions of the session of the Board of Trustees of ‘Hayastan’ All-Armenian Fund.
