On August 2, President of the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Arayik Harutyunyan discussed issues related to the issues of energy security of the Republic of Arstakh. Until the Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression in 2020, the Artsakh Republic was self-sufficient in terms of electricity, even exporting a certain amount of electricity.
Getavan-1 HPP with a capacity of 17.6 MW will be built in the territory of Getavan community of Martakert region, Artsakh, to restore the energy self-sustainability of the country and boost economic development.
