Gegharkunik Governor Gnel Sanosyan touched upon the border situation at a briefing with journalists today.
“A shootout took place at dawn in the direction of the position where hot battles took place last night. We have one wounded. The injury is around the shoulder. He underwent a surgery, everything is normal,” Sanosyan said.
Speaking about the Sotk mine, Sanosyan said that it is not working at the moment.
“Taking into account the security issues, the employees of the Sotk mine and some of the equipment were taken out of the mine,” Sanosyan said.
The Governor of Gegharkunik also referred to the question raised by the residents that they have no place to graze cattle and sheep, they have to graze in the yards of their houses.
“There is such a problem. There are some pastures where it is difficult to take the animals. Pasture size has been limited in some communities. Not only in our province, but in the whole country there is a lack of grass, which means that we may have problems in winter. In some places, the army corps has deployed additional forces. In places where it is supposed to be unsafe, our residents have been assisted in organizing the process of grazing animals and gathering grass,” Sanosyan said.
