Taking into account the regulation carried out by Armenia’s Public Services Regulatory Commission in the field of telecommunications, in the G5 Benchmark expert report published by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the Republic of Armenia received the highest rating in the CIS region as the 5th generation cooperative and target regulator in the telecommunications sector.
The purpose of the G5 Benchmark is to analyze the effectiveness of telecommunications regulation, to track how the digital economy is evolving based on information received from information and communication technology (ICT) and other industries to promote digital transformation.
Taking into account the above mentioned and the active involvement of the Commission in the international arena, during the plenary meeting of the EU Eastern Partnership countries Telecommunications Regulators Network (EaPeReg) held on 22 July 2021, the Commission was nominated to chair the EaPeReg Network in 2022.
