Turkey does not intend to assume international obligations of other countries and accept a new wave of migrants after the aggravation of the situation in Afghanistan. This is stated in the statement released on Monday by the official representative of the Turkish Foreign Ministry Tanju Bilgiç, TASS reports.
“We were surprised to meet the statement of Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, who called Turkey ‘the most suitable place’ for Afghan refugees,” the diplomat stressed. “We inform our partners at all levels about this, noting that Turkey will not become an EU border guard or a camp for those who seek asylum.”
