Foreign Relations Committee Chair, Senator Bob Menendez, presses Under Secretary of State Victoria Nuland on Turkey illicitly recruiting Syrian mercenaries for Azerbaijan/Turkey's attack against Artsakh and Armenia last fall.
“Are you familiar with Turkey facilitating the transfer of fighters from Syria to Azerbaijan during the 2020 war in Nagorno-Karabakh?” Bob Menendez asked.
She declined to discuss this matter with Congress in open session.
“I think it would be appropriate on that last point to discuss it in a separate session if that’s acceptable to you Mr. Chairman, in another setting,” Nuland said.
According to the US senator, this is totally unacceptable.
