The Russian peacekeepers have escorted the convoys of heavy vehicles on mountain roads to remote localities of the Martuni District in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The military police units have inspected the drivers and their vehicles as well as have escorted six convoys of heavy vehicles that were transporting building and food supplies on winding and serpentine roads through the Lachin corridor northward and southward, as well as towards the route Shushi - Karmir Shuka and vice versa.
In addition, the Russian peacekeepers have ensured the safe transit of vehicles in the areas of responsibility of the observation posts.
After having cleared the territory of remote localities of the Martuni District, the sapper groups of the Russian Peacekeeping Forces continue rehabilitating the civilian infrastructure and creating the conditions for a normal everyday life of the population.
At 27 observation posts, the Russian peacekeepers monitor the situation and control the ceasefire.
Over the past 24 hours, 3 hectares of territory have been cleared of explosive remnants and 3 buildings located in the Martuni District have been explored.
In total, since the 23rd of November 2020, 2139 hectares of area, more than 650 kilometers of roads, 1880 buildings, including 30 of social importance, have been cleared; 25640 explosive remnants have been detected and neutralized.
All the operation of the Russian Peacekeeping Forces are implemented in accordance with the measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus infection.
In order to ensure the security of the Russian peacekeepers and to prevent possible incidents, there is a continuous collaboration maintained with the general staffs of the armed forces of Azerbaijan and Armenia.
