European Council President Charles Michel met with Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili in Georgia. He was scheduled to attend the annual Batumi International Conference also to be attended by the presidents of the Ukraine and Moldova, but the event was postponed due to more pressing issues.
The situation in Georgia is tense; the protesters are demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister. The European Union condemns what happened in Georgia, including the appointment of judges to the Supreme Court, which can deprive Tbilisi of EU financial support.
Prior to his visit to Georgia, Charles Michel met with Ilham Aliyev and noted that the European Union could assist Azerbaijan in demarcating the border between Armenia and Armenia at the expert level.
