Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan informed during the briefing that during the negotiations with the President of the European Council Charles Michel, the return of prisoners of war, hostages and other detainees without preconditions was a priority.
“Immediate return of prisoners of war, hostages and other detainees held in Azerbaijan without preconditions in accordance with international humanitarian law and the November 9, 2020 trilateral statement was highlighted. Azerbaijan’s policy of not returning prisoners of war, hostages or other detainees is not the only case of its violation of the November 9 trilateral statement,” Pashinyan said.
Pashinyan also reminded that the November 9 statement envisages unblocking all transport and economic infrastructures in the region.
According to the Acting Prime Minister, Azerbaijan is hindering this process, too.
