President of the European Council Charles Michel is on a two-day working visit to Armenia.
After paying tribute to the memory of the Armenian Genocide victims at the Tsitsernakaberd Memorial, after meeting with Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Charles Michel visited Khor Virap (Armenian monastery located in the Ararat Plain in Armenia, near the closed border with Turkey).
During the visit accompanied by Acting Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Vahram Dumanyan, the high-ranking European guest got acquainted with the Armenian cultural heritage and the history of Christianity in Armenia.
The delegation of Charles Michel’s tour also included EU Ambassador to Armenia Andrea Wiktorin and Acting Deputy Minister Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia Arthur Martirosyan, the Ministry reports.
