While Azerbaijani official sources state that the ambassadors of 46 countries have visited Shushi, the Lithuanian ambassador to Armenia told ‘Lurer’ that the visit was not at the level of an ambassador, but at the level of a low-ranking representative of the diplomatic corps.
Referring to the recent incidents on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Inga Stanytė-Toločkienė stressed that there is no alternative to a peaceful solution under the auspices of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs.
“The Ambassador did not attend the visit, Lithuania was represented at a very low diplomatic level,” says Inga Stanytė-Toločkienė, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Lithuania to the Republic of Armenia.
Sometimes the fact that diplomats can go somewhere and see with their own eyes the objective picture, it is not always possible to arrange with the country that organizes such visits. Sometimes it is good that there is an opportunity to really see the objective situation.
