The fact that the Azerbaijani parliamentary group may visit the occupied Northern Cyprus does not surprise any Greek, except, probably, the Greek Ambassador to Azerbaijan Nikos Piperigos and the Greek Foreign Ministry. This was announced by the head of the Athens bureau of the Greek City Times news agency, Greek journalist Paul Antonopoulos.
“Greece probably thinks that the embarrassing pipeline may have some leverage over Azerbaijan, but, as dictator Aliyev told Ambassador Piperigos, Azerbaijan supports Turkey in every issue,” the Greek journalist said.
The journalist wonders whether the ambassador and the Greek Foreign Ministry will remain silent during the visit of a group of Azerbaijani parliamentarians to the occupied Northern Cyprus, as they did during the embarrassing visit to the occupied territory of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh).
