The United States is more than 95% complete with the withdrawal of its troops from Afghanistan. This is stated in a statement released on Tuesday by the Central Command of the US Armed Forces, TASS reports.
“The withdrawal process continues. According to the Central Command, we have completed the withdrawal process by more than 95%,” the statement said. On July 6, the command reported that the withdrawal process was completed “by more than 90%.”
The press release notes that since the decision of US President Joe Biden to withdraw troops, the Pentagon has carried out the equivalent of about 984 flights of military transport aircraft C-17 for the export of military cargo. In addition, more than 17 thousand units of military equipment were transferred to the Department of Logistics Support of the Ministry of Defense for destruction. The United States has also officially handed over seven facilities to the Afghan Ministry of Defense. The Pentagon cited similar figures in a message dated July 6.
