Hong Kong action movie star Cheng Rong (67), widely known in Korea as Jackie Chan, is known to have expressed his desire to become a member of the Communist Party of China, newsdirectory3 reports.
According to China’s state-run Global Times on the 12th, Cheng Rong attended a symposium held in Beijing on the 8th for Chinese film officials and said, “The Communist Party of China realizes everything it has said and promised within a few decades. “You can see the greatness of the Chinese Communist Party,” he said.
“I want to become a member of the Chinese Communist Party.” The symposium was a place to exchange opinions on the keynote speech of Chinese President Xi Jinping at the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party.
Cheng Rong is the vice president of the China Film Association. He is said to have told the attendees, “I am proud to be Chinese,” and “but today, I am more envious that you are members of the Communist Party.”
