Acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan met with the leaders of about a dozen extra-parliamentary political forces.
In particular, leader of the Liberal Party Samvel Babayan, leader of the ‘Alliance’ Progressive Center Party Tigran Urikhanyan, leader of the ‘Fair Armenia’ party Norayr Norikyan, leader of the ‘Sovereign Armenia’ party David Sanasaryan, Tigran Arzakantsyan from the Democratic Party of Armenia, leader of the European Party of Armenia Tigran Khzmalyan, Chairman of the Christian-Democratic Party of Armenia Levon Shirinyan, Chairman of the United Homeland Party Mher Terteryan, Leader of the Conservative Party Mikael Hayrapetyan, Chairman of the Board of the Social Democrat Hunchakian Party of Armenia Sedrak Achemyan participated in the meeting.
Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan thanked those present for accepting the invitation to the meeting.
“I want to inform you from a purely organizational point of view that there was an agreement with some other parties in advance, simply leader of the Republic Party Mr. (Aram) Sargsyan and the chairman of the ‘Bright Armenia’ party Edmon Marukyan are not in Armenia now. However, we decided to arrange the meeting because we had agreed to arrange the first meeting within 15 days.
I think that today we need to reach an agreement on what to do next, because as we agreed, the first meeting will be of a purely organizational nature, in order to listen to views on how we are going to work. We should try to create a permanent format with my participation and the representation of extra-parliamentary forces. We consider this as, so called, a platform for discussing issues on the agenda of our public life, political life, economic life, and if we can say so, a place of brainstorming, where we can discuss all possible issues,” said Nikol Pashinyan.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the further activities of the newly created format, the setting of meeting agendas, and the work schedule.
It was decided to hold the first session of Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan with the participation of the leaders of the extra-parliamentary political forces in the near future.
