We had a productive conversation with EU Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, Olivér Várhelyi yesterday, which was followed by a constructive meeting today between the Acting Prime Minister and the Commissioner, Armenia’s Acting Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan said during a statement with Várhelyi.
During the visit, they exchanged views on the active cooperation between Armenia and EU, the current agenda of the partnership, as well as a wide range of issues related to the further development of relations.
“We spoke about the serious challenges that arose in 2020, in particular, the war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) on September 27, 2020, as well as the coronavirus pandemic. I would like to note that Armenia is grateful to the European Union for both its fight against the coronavirus and its humanitarian assistance to our compatriots who have suffered in the war against Artsakh. We discussed with the Commissioner our further actions aimed at mitigating the grave consequences of large-scale military aggression against Artsakh and the post-war situation,” Grigoryan said.
According to him, Armenia is committed to the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict exclusively by peaceful means, within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing.
