Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan referred to the creation of the patrol police at the beginning of the Government session.
“It is a fundamentally new type of police, moreover, in the sense of the content and human resources. About 700 patrol police officers are on duty. Seventy percent of the staff are people who have not worked in the police before, came to the police out of civilian life. Thirty percent are the police officers who should bring the best experience with them,” Pashinyan said.
Pashinyan also mentioned that in particular in Yerevan the traffic police stopped its service on July 7.
“Now there is only a special subdivision of the traffic police, which has completely different functions, it will not communicate with the citizens in terms of law enforcement,” Pashinyan said.
