In Georgia, the rights of sex minorities are not violated, so they have no reason to hold an action in defense of their rights, Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili said at a government meeting on July 05, Formula TV channel reports.
According to the Prime Minister, supporters of non-traditional sexual relations should take into account the opinion of the majority, which considers LGBT propaganda unacceptable.
“I think the parade announced today is unfounded. Today’s rally carries the threat of civil strife. For the majority of the population, this rally is unacceptable. I think that this one should not be carried out,” Garibashvili said.
He noted that the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are consulting with the organizers of the LGBT action. They were offered to hold the event not on the central avenue of the capital, but in another place.
Garibashvili added that such actions only contribute to discrimination against sexual minorities, as they attract “too much attention” to them.
