Armenia celebrates Constitution Day today. The day is non-working. The Mother Law of Armenia is already 26 years old. On July 5, 1995, the draft Constitution of the country was submitted to a referendum. It was the first Constitution of independent Armenia, which enshrined the principles of a free, independent and democratic Armenia.
In 2005, again by referendum, the Mother Law was amended and the powers of the parliament were expanded. With the referendum on constitutional amendments in 2015, our country made the transition to a parliamentary system of government.
