No one is interested in the further development of the crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh. The statement came from Russian President Vladimir Putin during his 18th annual live broadcast. Nagorno-Karabakh conflict was among the one million questions asked the Russian President, in response to which the head of the Kremlin said that the people of Nagorno-Karabakh would benefit the most from peace in the region.
“Russia has played a role in resolving this crisis, no one is interested in its development, because if we all live in peace and friendship, we will create the conditions for a normal life for the people of Karabakh. It is impossible to always live with the worry that the conflict will resume. The leaders of both Armenia and Azerbaijan understand that. Many problems have accumulated, there are a number of issues,” says Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to him, there are problems with infrastructure, the clarification of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, and now the relevant work is being carried out on a trilateral basis. That issue was also at the core of the Lavrov-Çavuşoğlu meeting. The Russian Foreign Minister visited Turkey. Moscow and Ankara intend to work together to normalize practical cooperation between Baku and Yerevan, Lavrov told reporters after a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in Antalya.
“Today we agreed with Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu that we will cooperate, each of us using our opportunities to normalize the relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, to create conditions for the neighborliness of Azerbaijanis and Armenians, as well as people of any other nationality,” says Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
Lavrov is sure, in that case, any issue, including political, can be resolved. As for Turkish President Erdogan’s visit to Azerbaijan, according to the Russian Foreign Minister, it was a visit within the framework of Turkey-Azerbaijan bilateral relations.
