A test batch of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine was produced in Iran, the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) said, TASS reports.
“RDIF and Actoverco, one of Iran's leading pharmaceutical companies, announce the production of a test batch of the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine in the country. Iran became the first state in the Middle East region to manufacture Sputnik V vaccine. The vaccine produced in Iran will be used for the implementation of the national vaccination program in Iran,” the message reads.
Today Sputnik V is registered in 67 countries with a total population of over 3.5 billion people. Data from regulators in a number of countries, including Argentina, Serbia, Bahrain, Hungary, Mexico and other countries, obtained during the vaccination of the population, demonstrate that Sputnik V is one of the safest and most effective vaccines against coronavirus.
