Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Topical issues of Russian-Turkish cooperation in various fields were discussed. Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed gratitude for the decision taken by the Russian side to resume flights with Turkey, as well as for the start of deliveries of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine.
Among other issue the interlocutors discussed the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh. A positive assessment was given to the work of the Joint Russian-Turkish Center for Controlling the Ceasefire and Military Operations. The President of Turkey expressed support for Russian efforts to ensure the full implementation of the agreements enshrined in the statements of the leaders of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan signed on November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021. Mutual readiness to continue coordination was confirmed, including in the interests of economic development and restoration of the region’s transport infrastructure.
