PACE Committee on Legal Affairs has adopted a
report on the implementation of the requirements of the resolution on political prisoners in Azerbaijan, which states, the problem of political prisoners in Azerbaijan, “has been neither duly recognized nor adequately addressed by the authorities, let alone resolved,” according to a follow-up report declassified yesterday. This is stated on the official website of the PACE.
The follow-up report, prepared by Thorhildur Sunna Ævarsdóttir (Iceland, SOC) said most provisions of the resolution “have not been implemented” by the authorities.
PACE yet in 2020, at the January session, adopted the
report of the Icelandic MP on the issue of political prisoners in Azerbaijan.
