Georgia and Turkey discussed further liberalization of tariffs for agricultural products under the Free Trade Agreement between the countries and the possibility of including trade in services in the document, the press service of the Georgian Ministry of Economy reported.
Ankara hosted the 12th meeting of the Joint Committee within the framework of the Georgian-Turkish Free Trade Agreement, during which negotiations were held on amending the Free Trade Agreement between the two countries.
The Georgian side believes that the amendment to the agreement and further liberalization of agricultural tariffs will increase Georgia’s exports to Turkey and help Georgian producers to make their agricultural products competitive in the Turkish market.
