On Wednesday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov the implementation of the agreements reached by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, including those concerning the solution of humanitarian problems in Nagorno-Karabakh by telephone, TASS reports.
“A number of topics were touched upon in the context of the implementation of the agreements of November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021 reached by the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia, in particular concerning the solution of humanitarian issues in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The important contribution of the Trilateral Working Group under the joint chairmanship of the Deputy Prime Ministers of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia in the post-conflict development of the region was emphasized,” the Russian Foreign Ministry’s statement reads.
Lavrov and Bayramov noted with satisfaction that, despite the negative impact of the pandemic, multifaceted Russian-Azerbaijani relations are successfully developing, trade and economic interaction is growing. “This is largely facilitated by the implementation of the decisions of the 19th meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the agreements reached during the recent official visit of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov to the Russian Federation,” the Foreign Ministry added.
The parties also agreed on further contacts through the foreign ministries.
