A new settlement is being built near the village of Astghashen in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) The residents of the occupied Jraghatsner, Madatashen, Moshkhmhat and Sghnakh communities of Askeran region will settle here. All the families of Jraghatsner want to settle here.
“Every day these people work dutifully, work, do everything to be able to hand over many houses in a very short time,” says Arsen Hayrapetov, Head of Jraghatsner community, Artsakh.
‘Kapavor’ company, funded by ‘Hayastan’ All-Armenian Fund, carries out the construction. Technical control belongs to the Artsakh Ministry of Urban Development. The project envisages 211 houses, 116 will be built in the first stage.
“We have 2-room, 3, 4 and 5-room apartments. The 2-room apartment has an area of 88 square meters, 3 - 136, 4 - 138, 5 - 182 square meters,” precinct manager Hamlet Babayan says.
The contractor company plans to build 50 houses by the end of the year. They say there is no shortage of the supply of construction materials and mechanisms, only labor is needed. Nver Petrosyan, who is a teacher, came to lay the foundation stone of his own house.
“I am obliged to do this work, I consider it right that every villager, even to a small extent, even to the best of his ability, participates in this work,” says displaced Nver Petrosyan.
In the second phase of construction, the new settlement will have a municipality, an aid station, a shop, and police fire and rescue stations. In terms of quality, the precinct manager assures.
“I assure you about the quality. ‘Kapavor’ company has many years of work experience, we build houses the way we would build them for ourselves,” Hamlet Babayan says.
The new settlement will have the facilities of a modern settlement. Greenhouses are mainly planned to be built on a 1,500-square-meter plot near the house.
