The process of delimitation and demarcation of Georgia's borders has been postponed due to a global pandemic, as well as the war between Armenia and Azerbaijan last year, said a report by Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on the implementation of the government's program.
Georgia is ready to take appropriate measures to resume the process in the near future.
“Commissions’ meetings, the process of delimitation and demarcation must continue,” the document noted.
314 out of 480 kilometers of the border between Georgia and Azerbaijan were agreed within the framework of the joint commission on delimitation and demarcation. But 166 kilometers are still being explored at the expert level. The subject of the dispute is the David Gareja monastery complex.
