The NATO members will confirm the position of the open doors in Ukraine at June 14 summit, while in the case of membership in the alliance, there is no consensus yet, Mircea Geoană, NATO Deputy Secretary General stated in a video conference titled ‘Democracy in Action’,TASS reports.
“To make a decision we need to reach a consensus, however, there is no consensus for that issue yet,” he said, referring to prospects for membership of Ukraine and Georgia in the alliance.
He also added that the Ukrainian question would be discussed at the NATO summit on June 14.
“The politics of open doors is unchangeable, real and current. Our leaders at the summit will confirm the policy of open doors in a week,” he said.
