The role of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh can hardly be overestimated, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said, RIA Novosti reports.
The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the settlement of the situation around Nagorno-Karabakh continues on a daily basis.
“Negotiations and consultations are being held between the foreign ministers. We communicate literally every day through foreign ministries and embassies. Reports of telephone conversations between Russia and Azerbaijan, as well as between the Russian and Armenian Foreign Ministers, are published regularly. Our country is making enormous efforts to resolve this situation,” said Maria Zakharova.
She added that it is not only a matter of politics, but also of diplomacy, as well as the personal efforts of the country’s leadership.
