The settlement of the Karabakh issue is not related to the clarification of the borders in terms of content, said Nikol Pashinyan, Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia and head of the pre-election list of the ‘Civil Contract’ party, during a meeting with party members at the Nork-Marash ‘Civil Contract’ office.
“We are ready to be fully involved in the negotiation process to resolve the Karabakh issue. When the negotiations within the Co-Chairs are fully resumed, and the resolution proposed by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs on border adjustment is implemented, it, in fact, becomes a very important step in realizing our vision for our future. The opportunity to open an era of peaceful development for Armenia is a cornerstone of these ideas. We really need an era where the Armenian people in Armenia and Artsakh will be able to engage in peaceful development.
I want to emphasize that we have already stated our views on the security system. Our number one security partner is Russia, with which we have an agreement on a joint military group, and the United Air Defense System. The CSTO is our main security system, in which we participate, and it should continue to be so. We must work with our partners in the Islamic Republic of Iran, and we must cooperate with Georgia on regional security to ensure lasting peace in the region. When we say the era of peaceful development for the Armenian people, we mean the region in general, because in this context it is impossible to separate the region,” Pashinyan said.
Referring to the ideas of the era of peaceful development, Nikol Pashinyan mentioned that education is the priority.
