The servicemen of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh held an educational campaign Peacemaker Lesson in the secondary school of the village of Noragyuh in the Askeran district of Nagorno-Karabakh.
More than 100 middle and high school students took part in this action, which took place in the form of an interactive lesson. During the lecture, the servicemen of the Russian peacekeeping contingent told the students about the main tasks of the peacekeeping units. What is important-the children were told about the increased danger of being in areas where there were previously fighting because of the large number of explosive objects.
“Today, we held an interactive lesson in the secondary school of the village of Noragyukh in the Askeran district. During the lesson, we told the children about the tasks performed by the peacekeepers both in the Nagorno-Karabakh zone and around the world as a whole,” said Sergey Ivanov, an officer of the Humanitarian Response Center. “In addition to telling the children about the goals and tasks performed by the peacekeepers, the HDC officers brought them the safety requirements in their daily activities before the upcoming holidays, as well as how to provide first aid,” he added.
The Russian officers showed the children images of the main types of explosive objects found on the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh, and also explained in practice the rules for providing first aid to victims. Including mine-blast injuries.
“I can say that this interactive lesson was very useful, both for us-adults and students. It is very important that students and adults know the precautions to be taken in such circumstances when they encounter unexploded mines. This was very useful information for us,” said Liana Iliyan, a teacher of Russian language and literature at the Noragyukh secondary school. “We are very happy to see Russian peacekeeping forces in our region, in our country and in our school. We are very grateful to you for your work, for your mission,” she added
At the end of the event, the students recited poems and sang songs in Russian.
During the implementation of peacekeeping tasks in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh, Russian servicemen came to visit children more than 40 times to conduct interactive lessons on history, patriotic actions and thematic creative meetings. In total, more than 4,000 schoolchildren and students took part in these events.
