The Iranian Foreign Minister is in Armenia. Speaking about the prospects of the Armenian-Iranian relations, Acting Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan noted that there are big programs with Iran’s partners.
“The first is the Persian Gulf-Black Sea program. One of the sessions took place 1-2 months ago; the next session will take place in Bulgaria. This is infrastructure project, which will ensure the Persian Gulf-Black Sea connection and the easy process of cargo transportation.
The second program is in the energy sector. We are currently constructing a third high-voltage line with Iran, and we have a gas and electricity exchange agreement with the Iranian side. At this stage, the issue of extending the agreement is also being negotiated.
In fact, in addition to these large projects, our trade turnover is growing to some extent, and in the current conditions, we are both working on the progress of these projects and the possible faster process,” Avinyan said.
