US Secretary of State Antony Blinken continues his visit to the Middle East. He has already visited Israel and the West Bank, met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Palestinian authority and stressed that the US course in the Middle East is the same, Euronews reports.
The US Secretary of State assured that Washington would oppose the steps that will hinder the principle of “two states for two peoples.” The United States opposes the construction of Jewish settlements in the Palestinian territories, the demolition of houses, the eviction of residents, as well as calls for violence and the sponsorship of terrorism. At the same time, Blinken stressed that the White House fully supports Israel’s right to defend itself against attacks from the Gaza Strip.
The next meeting of the US Secretary of State will be with the President of Egypt Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and the King of Jordan Abdullah II.
