The situation in Syunik has caused serious concern in our society. And, yes, there are quite fair expectations that CSTO member states, CSTO as an organization, should speak clearly on this issue. Deputy of ‘My Step’ faction Mikael Zolyan stated about it from the parliamentary tribune.
“Of course, a lot of work is being done to address the situation, but most of it is not visible, only the top of the iceberg is visible. Our allies should have made it clear that actions that call into question the territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia are unacceptable and will have consequences.
I want to call on the parliaments of the CSTO member states to convey this idea to their governments. Here we are dealing with the CSTO reputation; it is not only Armenia’s problem. This is a case where work that is not visible alone cannot be effective. We need clear work that will express the CSTO position on the situation,” he said.
